Answers to common questions and guides for those experiencing the unexplained
Common Questions
Experiencing Activity
First, stay calm. Document what you're experiencing — dates, times, locations within your home, and what happened. Rule out mundane explanations (drafts, settling, animals). If the activity continues, contact us through our investigation request form. We treat every report with respect and confidentiality.
Yes. Even if you're unsure what you saw, your report is valuable. We document all sightings and cross-reference them with other reports in the area. Details like time, direction, altitude estimate, and duration help us analyze the event. Photos or video, even if unclear, are always helpful.
Absolutely not. We exist because we take these experiences seriously. Many people who contact us have been dismissed by others — we won't do that. Your experience is valid, and our job is to investigate it professionally.
Yes. We never share your personal information or location details without explicit permission. If a case is published to our case files, all identifying information is removed unless you consent otherwise.
About Investigations
It depends on the type of case. For hauntings, we conduct an on-site investigation using specialized equipment to detect and document anomalies. For sightings, we interview witnesses and document evidence. Every investigation follows a structured methodology, and you receive a full report of our findings.
Our investigations are free. Wyoming Paranormal is a volunteer investigation team. We never charge for our services because we believe everyone deserves answers.
A typical on-site haunting investigation takes 4-8 hours, usually conducted in the evening and nighttime hours. Evidence review and report writing may take an additional 1-2 weeks. Field investigations for cryptid or UFO cases vary based on the evidence available.
Currently, we focus on the state of Wyoming. We're based in Cheyenne and serve all communities across the state. If you're outside Wyoming, we can help connect you with reputable teams in your area.
About the Paranormal
We investigate the full spectrum: hauntings and spirit activity, UFO/UAP sightings, cryptid and unknown creature encounters, and other unexplained phenomena. Unlike most teams that focus solely on ghost hunting, we approach all forms of the unexplained.
Wyoming has a rich history of unexplained phenomena. Its vast open spaces, low light pollution, and sparse population make it uniquely suited for both observations and investigations. From haunted historic sites to UFO sightings over missile installations, Wyoming has it all.
We investigate with an open but critical mind. Our goal is to document what's happening and find explanations — whether natural or otherwise. We don't set out to prove or disprove anything. We follow the evidence.

If you checked three or more items on the list above, your experience may warrant professional investigation. Here’s what we recommend:
- Document everything. Keep a log of dates, times, locations, and descriptions of each event. The more detail, the better.
- Rule out mundane causes. Check for drafts, plumbing issues, animals, and electrical problems. We do this too, but it helps to start early.
- Don’t provoke. If you believe something is present, avoid antagonizing it. This is especially important in cases of intelligent haunting.
- Contact us. Submit an investigation request. Our team will review your report and reach out within 48 hours. Every report is confidential.
Even if you only checked one or two items, we still want to hear from you. Sometimes a single, significant event is worth investigating.
